    Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a doctor's referral to see a physiotherapist?

No, you won’t need a GP or doctor’s referral to see a Magill physiotherapist, because they are primary health care providers.

This means that you’re able to contact them directly when you have any physical injuries or mobility issues, without needing to go through another person, unless you’re attending as part of a workplace injury claim or chronic disease management plan.

You’re welcome to book an appointment with our friendly physiotherapists anytime by calling 8368 7444 or use our online form at the top right of this page.

Can physiotherapy help with sports injuries?

Yes, physiotherapists are experts in diagnosing, assessing, treating, rehabilitating as well as preventing all types of sports injuries, from football to gymnastics to dancing. In fact, physiotherapy plays a key role in the treatment of all types of sports injuries at all levels of performance, including children’s sports, high performing athletes and sporting enthusiasts.

Physiotherapists are highly trained in managing acute injuries including fractures, sprains and dislocations, as well as chronic sports injuries involving repetitive stress or chronic strain, such as tendinitis and shin splints.

No matter your stage of recovery, at Kinetic Rehabilitation + Performance Magill, our physiotherapists are highly trained to help you to improve your performance and reduce the risk of future injuries through a tailored, evidence-based treatment plan.

Are physiotherapy services covered by insurance?

Yes, most physiotherapy services provided by an accredited physiotherapist will be eligible for a rebate from your health insurance provider under extras cover. The exact rebate amount will vary between different health funds and levels of cover, so we recommend checking directly with your insurance provider to learn more about out-of-pocket expenses.
